Marion Mayhew (Principal)
Marion came along to the band in 2007 just to help out with the contest, with no prior brass band experience and having just taken up playing again for the first time since leaving school. She had so much fun and couldn’t resist the uniform, so signed up and is still here.
Fred Harrison
Fred joined the band in 2002 as a newcomer to banding. He is the band chairman, mainly because he wasn’t smart enough to take a step back when they asked for volunteers.
Fred is married to Bridget, band percussionist, and his favourite job (not) is lugging all the percussion kit around.

Paul Holloway Paul originally joined the Training band in 2003 and has been with the Main band since 2004. Firmly attached to the end seat on the back row he was proud to be part of the “Best Back Row” at Folkestone last year. Having escaped from the role of Treasurer he enjoys playing with the band at all their engagements throughout the year (except contests).

Bridget Harrison
Bridget joined the band in 2003, playing timpani for a contest, and has tagged along ever since rather than stay home alone. How hard can it be to read music and hit things?! Her first instrument is piano but she has now finally given in and started learning baritone, playing with the training band.

Roger Dorman After years playing squeezy things for folk and morris, I decided to learn to play a proper instrument when I retired. My son's euphonium was mouldering and neglected in the attic, and I'm still learning. It also seemed like a good idea to learn to take the dents out, so I had three years on the brass repair course at Merton. I joined the band last year after playing in the training band.
